Fertilizer by crop

Rubber

Tapped rubber needs fertilizer twice a year, 1–1.2 kg/tree/year in total, per Department of Agriculture guidance. Our 15-7-18 matches the recommended formula exactly.

Stage-by-stage plan

Add every time you fertilize

Mor Rubber adds calcium, magnesium and orthosilicic acid. Apply it with your NPK each round for softer bark, easier tapping and healthier latex vessels.

Young rubber, not yet tapped (1–6 years)

Also twice a year at the start and end of the rains. On loam use 16-8-8; on sandy soil use 15-7-18. Per application by age: 2–17 months 60–120 g, 2–3 years about 190 g, 4–6 years about 250 g per tree.

Choose the approach that fits your farm

Easy start — keep your formulas

Keep your usual formula twice a year and add Mor Rubber each round.

Recommended

Full programme

15-7-18 at the start and end of the rains, 500–600 g/tree each, plus Mor Rubber every round.

Acidic or worn-out soil

At the start of the rains, broadcast orthosilicic acid powder to correct pH a month before fertilizing, then follow the programme.

Good to know

  • Don’t apply in severe drought or very heavy rain.
  • Shift the months to your local rainy season; the north and northeast get rain later than the south.
  • Plots with a legume cover crop can use a lower-phosphorus formula.

Rates on this page are general guidance for bearing trees. Adjust for tree age, canopy size, crop load and soil test results. Months are approximate and vary by region.
